OPINION: I Stand for Normal Or Why We Must Defeat the Normalphobes and Insaneaphiles for Humanity's Sake

BY TOM HACH

Part I of a series

Throughout history, societies have derived their laws based upon the morality and mores which those societies revered. This is a large part of why the ancient Romans were different from the ancient Persians and why in the modern era, Eastern Asian cultures are different from Middle Eastern cultures.

Looking at modern Western Civilization, our morality and mores are based upon the Judeo-Christian moral foundation of The Holy Bible. Additionally, it could be argued our culture shares influence from Greek philosophy with its emphasis on rational logic and the value of the individual person. This unique combination has elevated individual attainment and helped to make the countries which make up the realm of Western Civilization the most fair, innovative and dynamic in the modern world.

In many ways the United States is the pinnacle of Western Civilization. It is the country where its unique morality, based on individual responsibility as understood by Protestant reformers, and the philosophy based upon rational logic and the importance of individual human beings. This has allowed for the greatest breadth of freedom of human thought, innovation and action the world has ever seen. So successful has been the United States that it has become the standard bearer in most every sector throughout the world including culture, entertainment, business, technology, science, fashion, education, medicine, culinary arts and more. In short, the United States has established ‘Normal’ for the rest of the world.

The foundational principles of Western Civilization led to a civilization in which ‘normal’ could take hold. A place where a father could raise children in peace without struggle, where a mother could tend the home and pursue her creative passions. Through this era of order, western society blossomed into something more. It became a land where morality rules and order created distinctions are the norm, where food is bountiful and our only limits are our own imaginations. It’s a land where technological advancements have taken us from the very depths of the ocean to the furthest reaches of space.

Alas, the human condition is always in flux, and as such, no philosophical or religious worldview is guaranteed to predominate forever. Our time is no exception. The ‘New Normal’ which threatens the ‘Normal’ of today has been growing in strength and vitality since ‘The Communist Manifesto’ was released in 1848, and has been aggressively and methodically subverting ‘Normal’ in the United States in an organized fashion for over 100 years.

Ultimately their planning and execution of the ‘long walk through the institutions’ has allowed them take over and dominate almost every institution entity of importance including government, media, education, corporations, medicine, the Democrat Party and much more. Additionally, other institutions such as the Republican Party and many Christian churches, are heavily influenced by the ‘New Normal’ and many within each are thoroughly committed to ‘fundamentally transforming’ the United into the ‘New Normal.’

In part II of this series, we will define the supporters of the ‘New Normal,’ and explore why each side sees the world differently.
